November 30, 2003:

Sorry for the delay! Technical difficulties--the site crashed, blah blah blah.

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now all we're left with is cold pie in the fridge and the prospect of winter break glimmering faintly in the future. But that pie sure is tasty.

If you don't know how to vote, go to: http://www.qotw.net/~qotw/howtovote.html. Even if you do know how, the document is titled "How to Vote: Five Easy Steps to Joy," which is just fantastic. On the subject of fantastic: Sign up for honorable mentions! All the cool kids are doing it.

Kudos to Roz for last week's winning quote, "We could be Hell's Mermaids," proposing a name for a Commonwealth biker-gang.

Now, without further ado, the quotes!

"There were zombies between me and it. Evil zombies. Trying to sell me insurance." - Julian, on some work he didn't do.

"Ending a sentence with 'good' is like having German bread in your milk: it sinks to the bottom. Ending your sentence with 'well' is like going off a waxed jump: it's smooth." - Johan, on why he doesn't like people saying "I did good."

"Canada is like a loft apartment over a really good party." - Ben Miller

"Of course common people are idiots. The question is how to minimize the idiocy." - Mr. Harsanyi, on Constitutions and America

"It's like killing a baby and hiding the body in the woodshed." - William Collis, on admitting to listening to the band Outkast.

"There is this wonderful 19th century bed and you want to lie down on it--but you can't." - Ms. Siporin, on a room at the MFA

"Not every teenager is the same. That's why they have different colours." - Andrea Lam's Aunt Joy, on shirts at Limited Too.

"This is Thanksgiving. It's an American holiday. You're supposed to spend it eating turkey and doing math problems." - Mr. Sherry, on assigning homework over Thanksgiving

"I am thankful for the opportunity to express my individuality with one 500-word essay and a plethora of standardized tests." - Anonymous Commonwealth Student, for the Thanksgiving Assembly

"This would be my mother's first Thanksgving away from the Nuclear Family Testing Grounds..." - Jean

"Colin Powell, please report to G.O.D. You are dead." - Crisis: disembodied voice

"Books is knowledge." - Andrea Lam's Aunt Joy.

"Thank you so much; I don't know how socks work." - William Collis

"More tragic than the piece!" - Roberto Poli, Roz's piano teacher, on the way he played a piece about death. (Roz played it really badly)

"Cambridge is a bad-ass place." - Gabe Billings

"Do you guys always sit like that?" - Lisa, on Commonwealth Students

"You're like Michael Jackson's baby." - David Pfau to Jack Kotin, on how he hides himself in pictures.
